Cocoon Nebula

Updated: 12.4.03

IC5146, also known as the Cocoon Nebula, is a large, but faint nebula located in the constellation of Cygnus. The object was intentionally offset to try and capture the interesting, but small reflection nebula off to the right. Some field curvature can be seen from the focal reducer. This image was taken at the Chiefland Star Party, 2003.
