VDB142

This is a shot of the Elephant's Trunk, also known as VDB142 in Cepheus. It is part of a much larger complex known as IC1396. The image has been cropped to keep the compression low and file size reasonable. JPEG compression does some unusual things to the stars and color uniformity on a shot like this (still 1 meg in size!). TIF is much better but several megs in size. This shot was taken during the Chiefland Star Party.
