NGC7293

Updated: 6.29.02

Here is NGC7293, otherwise known as the Helix Nebula in the constellation of Aquarius. Even with the 30mm spacer on the f/3.3 focal reducer (effective ~f/2.5), this planetary nebula is still too large for the ccd chip! It is somewhat difficult to see and image due to the low surface brightness. A few small galaxies can also be seen hiding in and around the Helix! This image was taken at Chiefland, Florida during the November Star Party.
