NGC4565

Updated: 3.28.05

NGC4565, a nearly edge-on galaxy in Coma Berenices, is both large 16' x 3' and bright, at mag 9.6. Just a hint of the top of the disk can be seen, just to the sides of the nucleus. It is a visual showpiece in large scopes. This image was taken at Chiefland during the CFAS Astrofest with the 10" Newtonian.
