NGC253

Updated: 10.25.04

A yearly favorite of imagers is NGC253, a large and beautiful galaxy located in Sculptor! Unfortunately, this is not a well positioned object for northern viewers and imagers, despite its large proportions and brightness. Even at f/5.3 in the 12" SCT, this galaxy slightly exceeds the frame of the chip's field of view. This shot was taken at Chiefland.
