NGC2403

Updated: 3.15.05

NGC2403 is a very large 18' x 10.1' galaxy sporting a magnitude of 8.4! It is located in the constellation of Camelopardalis. Despite the size and brightness, I found this galaxy a difficult one to process, partially due to the lower surface brightness and fainter outer reaches. The 10" Newt is just on the verge of resolving some of the brighter blue hot stars in the arms, which more time would have accomplished. This was taken at Chiefland.
