M99

Updated: 7.14.02

M99 is part of the Coma-Virgo cluster of galaxies and is in the constellation of Coma Berenices. It has a bright core with relatively faint arms and is not very large for a Messier galaxy (at 4.6'x4.3' in size). I was fighting extreme dew on this image. Some of the faint galaxies visible are pushing mag 20!
