M94

M94 has an unusual appearance for a face-on spiral and is located in the constellation of Canes Venatici. The bright ring surrounding the core represents an active star forming region, hence the bluish coloration. A satellite track is also part of the image. Image was taken while on vacation in Norwich, NY.
