Here's my second attempt at M83, taken at the Chiefland Star Party in April, '03. There's surprising detail in the core. This is a large galaxy and fills the chip at f/4.5 on the 12" scope. Significant haze and fog was present at Chiefland, but didn't seem to affect this image much at all.
