M16

Updated: 6.29.02

Here's an image of M16, otherwise known as the Eagle Nebula, located in the constellation of Serpens. It is a beautiful combination of an open cluster and nebula. The nebula is an interesting complex with regions of light emission (reddish) and dark gases where new stars are being formed. This was taken at the CFAS dark site.
