IC434/B33

Updated: 6.29.02

Here is the famous Horsehead Nebula located in Orion. It is situated close to the left most star in the belt. IC434 is the larger complex of nebulosity (the horizontal band). At the lower left is NGC2023. The Horsehead is extremely difficult to observe visually, requiring large aperatures and special nebula filters. This image was taken at the Chiefland Star Party.
